For us, the malt drink embodies the core "MONYO" vibe: starting from the same place as beer. We brew malt, which turns into malt juice - a pure, grainy base with the rich, brewery character that we already love.

The difference: here we do not use hops, and do not add yeast, so the brewed malt juice does not ferment further, and does not become beer. What remains is a naturally sweet, substantial base - with all the values inherent in the grain.

We build flavors upon this - initially launching with two fruity variants - and then carbonate it, resulting in a fresh, exciting, non-alcoholic carbonated soft drink with malty depth.

Our 2024 MOJO WORKIN' curry beer was the first common point: we brewed it using Kotányi curry, and the Kotányi team liked the product so much that they approached us afterwards to discuss what we could do together. This is where the story started.

We were planning to launch the malt beverage product line in 2025 anyway, and it quickly became clear: this is the perfect "platform" for Kotányi spice blends. A brewery base with a rounded malt character that can be excitingly combined with fruits and spices - so that the spices also stand out, but the end result remains refreshing and easy to drink.

This is how our first two opening flavors were born: the mango malt beverage with Kotányi Mangonett spice mix, and the orange malt beverage with Kotányi Orangina spice mix.

And this is just the beginning: we have a few more ideas on which Kotányi spice mixes could further expand the malt beverages. Who knows how many members the product family will grow by? 🙂

The malt provides a natural, slightly sweet, full-bodied base, onto which the Kotányi Orangina spice mix adds a citrusy, fresh character that pleasantly tempers the malt’s tones.

Its scent is of fresh orange peel, and its taste is clean and light. The citrus flavor complements the malt, making the overall effect of the drink more balanced and robust, more sophisticated than an average orange-flavored carbonated drink. A refreshing choice not just for quenching thirst, but also when you crave a light yet distinctive taste… or perhaps when you're a little hungry too. :)

Due to the nature of malt, this drink is not only built on flavors: owing to the inherent components of the grain, it may contain small amounts of B vitamins and minerals, which give each sip a slightly more substantial, rounded, and fuller feeling.

This orange-malt drink is an ideal choice during the summer heat, for a relaxing afternoon, friendly conversations, or when you want to break away from the typical soft drinks but wish to stay alcohol-free.
