The MONYO Malt Drinks Have Arrived: a new category within the MONYO world, where the rounded base of malt meets fruity, sparkling freshness. These drinks are not beers, nor are they classic soft drinks in the usual sense, but they represent a unique, sweeter, non-alcoholic refreshment line. The goal was to create an easy-to-love yet exciting drink that opens up a new entry point in the MONYO offerings. The corporate website also describes MONYO malt drinks as malt-based, sweet, fruity, sparkling refreshments.

MONYO Malt Drinks

MONYO Malt Drinks are malt-based, fruity, sparkling refreshments that bring a sweeter, rounder character than a classic soft drink. The current lineup includes Mango and Orange, which complement the natural fullness of malt with a fruity direction and an exciting spicy twist. The result is an easily drinkable, non-alcoholic, characterful beverage that is both familiar and surprisingly new. MONYO categorizes these products as a staple, excitingly flavored malt drink in their range.

Conversation with the Product Creator

In connection with the MONYO Malt Drinks, we discussed the product development. We asked the creator to briefly share where the idea came from, what makes this category special, and what to expect when tasting it for the first time.

Where Did the Idea for the Malt Drinks Come From?

We have long been intrigued by how to present malt in a completely new context. Not as beer, but as the base of a refreshingly sweet, fruity, non-alcoholic drink that could appeal to a broader audience. This is where the idea for malt drinks was born: to retain the rounded, full character of malt, while making it fresh, easily enjoyable, and instantly comprehensible.

What Is the Main Twist or Uniqueness?

The main twist is that malt is not just a background element here, but the foundation of the entire drink's character. Built on this are the sparkling freshness, the fruity taste profile, and that spicy twist that ensures Mango and Orange are not just simple fruit-flavored drinks. This gives them their own identity: both familiar and yet deliver a completely different experience than what you would expect from a classic soft drink.

What Are the Key Ingredients or Flavor Notes?

The starting point is always malt, which provides a rounder, fuller base for the drink. To this are added the fruity directions: on one side, the mango, softer, warmer character, and on the other, the orange, more vibrant, citrusy line. The spicy tuning plays an important role in both drinks, making them more layered and memorable, not just simply sweet.

What Experience Should Someone Expect on Their First Taste?

The first impression is generally that it is both familiar and surprising. The sparkling, fruity freshness works immediately, followed by the malt's deeper, softer character, making the entire drink feel fuller and rounder. It doesn't provide a beer experience, but an independent non-alcoholic drink experience, which is more complex and playful than usual.

Who Do You Recommend It to, and for What Occasion?

For those open to new drink experiences and who want to step out of the usual soft drink logic. It may also be a good choice for those seeking a non-alcoholic alternative but who do not want something dull and neutral. It works well as a daytime refresher, alongside lighter meals, or simply when someone craves something fruity, sparkling, and a little unconventional.

Is There Any Behind-the-Scenes Secret or Fun Fact About It?

Perhaps the most interesting thing is that during the product development, we didn't want to re-flavor an existing soft drink recipe but instead build an entirely separate drink category around malt. This is what made the result so unique: it does not aim to resemble beer, nor does it conform to traditional soft drink lines. This is exactly the play and essence of it.
